Naming Ceremonies

What to Expect

Naming Ceremony is a welcome to the world for your child, it is a stage where a person, or persons are officially assigned a name to begin life with. 

 

The Ceremony involves Naming your child in front of family and friends and welcoming them into your community and hearts.

The Ceremony involves the parents choosing Godparents/Guardians/Mentors who will be involved in their child/children’s lives, providing guidance, love and support. During the ceremony affirmations, promises and wishes are made by those involved. This is done in front of family and friends and the child/children are welcomed into their hearts and community.

 

Your child does not have to be a baby, I have personally conducted naming ceremonies for a child and their 3 siblings, aged 11yrs, 5yrs and 18 months respectively. 

 

There are many ways that you can incorporate family and friends or add alternatives to give your ceremony an unforgettable touch, take a look at my Ceremony alternatives page for some inspiration. Most of these can be adapted to suit a Naming Ceremony.

 

I always endeavour to go above and beyond for families that choose me as their celebrant, at the base of this page you will find a list of a number of FREE inclusions in this package.

What is included

Include in my Naming Ceremony package is:

  • 2 x In person consultation (if we need more that is fine)
  • 1 x Rehearsal
  • 1 x Bound Ceremony Booklet of your Ceremony. Booklet includes entire Ceremony transcript and any readings, there is also blank pages at the back of the booklet for guests to sign if you wish. 
  • Laminated set of palm cards for readings
  • Use of my PA and Microphone system at your Ceremony. I wear a mouth Microphone and I supply a cordless microphone for anyone else speaking at the Ceremony
  • Use of the PA system to play music at your ceremony, if you wish
  • Use of signing table, pens and 2 decorative chairs (pictured)
  • If wish to have a separate table for a Ceremony Alternative, I can also supply that at no additional charge
  • Your Naming Certificate penned by a professional Calligraphist
 



FREE Inclusions

What a lot of people don’t realise until they select me to be their celebrant is the extras I provide, so let me share them here!

  • A personal, custom bottle of wine that will have a poem professionally printed on the front and the Childs birth and heritage details on the back. It will also list their Godparents, Mentors and Guardians names as well as the music played on the day. If you wish to purchase additional bottles as a gift to the aforementioned people, they will be $30 each
  • A small ‘Gift of Knowledge’ which is a small Guardian Angel figure, a gift from me to help keep your child safe
  • Use of any feather pens or other decorative accessories for signing
  • Unlimited contact and support via email and phone
